Laura Van Roekel
(She/Her)
I am passionate about working with people, because everyone deserves to be heard, reminded who they are, and supported through their experiences in order to reach a new level of thriving. I believe change happens through exploration of your past experiences and building insight into how they impact you today, identifying your unique values and strengths and how these can be utilized to help you move forward.
I have experience working with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma/abuse and I work primarily with young adults through the lifespan. In addition, I have experience working with college students and young adults as they are transitioning into a new phase of life. I utilize a strength-based approach to help empower and encourage clients through a trauma lens and desire to create a space where people feel encouraged, validated, and motivated.
I am a licensed behavioral health clinician and available to provide EMDR services. I received my BS in counseling with an emphasis in addiction, chemical dependency, and substance abuse through Grand Canyon University and my MA in clinical health counseling through the University of Northern Iowa. Your story matters and I am honored to be able to be a part of your journey.
